In today's TPOM, we will be taking a look at hatred, but not from the typical standpoint. We will look at the greed of hatred along with the phenomenon of the possessor transforming into the possessed, all while being careful to make critical distinctions that will help us deepen our understanding of various operational aspects of the human psyche. I will be calling your attention to the aspects of the fractal nesting of concepts and how they can inform other concepts within the framework of one's psychological matrix of thought.
Hatred & Definitions
"A feeling of intense dislike or aversion towards a person or thing; an emotion in which such a feeling is experienced; loathing; hostility; malevolence. Also: an instance of this. Frequently with of, for, between, against." OED.
"Strong aversion; intense dislike; hate; an affection of the mind awakened by something regarded as evil." GNU version of the Collaborative International Dictionary of English."
"Strong aversion; intense dislike; hateful regard; an affection of the mind awakened by something regarded as unpleasant, harmful or evil." Wiktionary.
"The emotion of intense dislike; a feeling of dislike so strong that it demands action." WordNet 3.0 Copyright 2006 by Princeton University.
"A hostile emotion combining intense feelings of detestation, anger, and often a desire to do harm. Also called hatred." APA Dictionary of Psychology.
We can see from the above that hatred is a powerful emotion. One experiences this in such a way that their inner reactions demand that action be taken against the object of their hatred. When a human hates something, they often find it abhorrent. This adds a sense to the hatred that indicates that the thing hated generates within the one hating such an intense response that it can be extremely difficult to impossible for this person to be in the presence of the object of their hatred, whatever that object may be. There are exceptions, and one of importance is that of those who wish to do harm. They will often place themselves in varying degrees of proximity to the despised object of their hatred so that they can bring about its destruction and, therefore, ultimate ruin.
The Possessor Is the Possessed
As with many things in this reality, hatred does not exist within a vacuum. It is a living complex of variables, each of which informs the hatred while themselves being aspects of hatred or other emotions. My suggestion is that these components exist as part of an informational, emotional continuum. This will be looked at in detail in the coming installments of TPOM.
